I got the front strip Done Saturday, is this normal? Or will this go away and blend in with the window, the tint is showing the Factory polka dot tint on the very top of the window, looking at the truck from Outside I do not like how it looks.

I'm thinking that's going to stay that way.

That's gonna stay if I'm not mistaken. In the past my tinters will lay a strip of black vinyl to mask it and completely block it out.

It's absolutely going to stay like that. Not a big deal in my opinion.

Do any of you have this part of your window tinted?

Not on this truck; my 2019 I did as well as my 2007 Impala. It was just a matter of him cutting a piece of black vinyl to cover the dots and then tint over it. I will say if I recall correctly it looked great from the inside out but if you looked hard enough from the outside you could still kinda see the dots.

This is a link to a BMW forum where they basically taped off the dots and laid down paint instead of vinyl lol

I have it done. My tint guy dropped the camera out and tinted the entire window instead of going around. Have had no issues with the LCA.

You gotta go darker to black out dots. Tint guy should have told you to go darker. Mine came tinted from Factory.

So back in the day when I worked at a window tint shop we used to tape around the dots to keep out unintended areas and sand the dots down with 3000 grit paper, then we applied the tint over and the result was a much more smoother area where the tint sticker closer between the dots.
The last resource in some cases was the sanding down of the dots and sprayed paint them and then tint around the dots.
I think I would recommend the first step I’m actually planning after I saw your windshield tint strip to do mine so I’ll share some pictures once I get mine done!!

They are called Frits and used to bond the windshield during the manufacturing process. It looks standard even with tints.
