2014 airbag locations

Question,on a 2014-15 tacoma,do they have airbags in the seat themselves or above the side window,reason I am asking is because my nephew bought new seat covers for his 2014 tacoma that says for use on 2005-2011 tacomas ?

 

Check the side stitching on the side of the seat back. There will be a small tag that says air bag..

 

My 2014 has both.

 

There is a yellow wire under both my seats. Yellow is airbag.

 

14 will have side seat airbags as well as side curtain airbags.
There are seat covers designed for seats with airbags.

 

Yeap,found the tag on the seat itself,seems he will have too return the covers as there is no cutout for any airbags.

 

There are/may not be cutouts. On airbag compliant seats, the stitching over the airbag(s) is designed to blow out. Kind of like the steering wheel airbag. It blows through the cover.
