Range of key fob has decreased

    Bringing this back from the dead to share some info. My key fob range decreased big time recently so I swapped batteries etc but still had issues. Here was my fix. Underneath the key fob battery are 3 prongs. Those prongs tend to flatten over time and with a magnifying glass I saw they weren't making contact with the battery. Bend those prongs carefully back up with a small flat tip screwdriver. My key fob range is back to normal and I can lock and unlock my truck from down the street now.

    I’ve found that if you rub the areas the contacts AND battery touch with a pencil eraser, things improve.
