    2013 White Tacoma SR5 , w/peeling paint.
    Frame recall done
Brother has a 2023 Black Raptor ordered it with no decals or badging , took it to his body shop and they sanded all the gloss paint off and painted the truck black satin.
I have ridden in a 2022 Tundra TRD Pro , but unfortunately the Raptor is head and shoulders superior , resale is also on the incline on the Raptor as the Pro.
The only drawback on the Raptor is towing if you buy one be prepared to fit it with Airbags to tow.
We are leaving whenever for Brockton Ma for the Overland camper upfit , more to come unless he buys at the Overland Expo in Boulder today.

I don't think you can even compare the reliability and resale of a Tacoma vs. the Ranger. After 17 years and 270k miles on it, my 2005 Tacoma was in excellent condition, still ran great and I got $10,500 for it when I traded it in. The Tacoma has the highest resale value of any vehicle in the US. Something the Ranger can only dream about.

A normal Ranger yes, but a Ranger Raptor (which this post was originally made for) is completely different. Just look at the prices of 2010-2014 F-150 Raptors. Some still bring close to original MSRP 10-13 years later.

The new Raptor will blow the doors off the Tacoma with all the recalls. My friend was bragging he gets his recalls on his phone app, I told him my Tundra hasn't had a recall.

The transmission gets a little lost now and then but the motor really does rip. I’ve hit the limiter numerous times and it still has some to give and this is an explorer with a dog cage, truck vault and gear. The fuel tank goes just as fast. My Tacoma is a complete dog in comparison, screaming at 80mph when the explorer is barely purring.

I think the ranger raptor on paper looks to be a better value than the new top level Tacoma trims.

Yes, certain aspects of the 4th gen interior are hideous as well.

I’ve had both Toyota and Ford trucks, I haven’t driven a new Ford lately, but their styling outside the nostalgia of the Mustang leaves me flat. With the exception of one Ranger, the Fords have all had issues.

But, but, it's a FORD!!! I have owned a 1988 Ranger and a 1990 F150 inline 6, I will never ever buy another Ford in my life and if I was to get one for free, I would sell it asap.

Clearly Ford is the same as it was 30 years ago, just like Toyota.

Ford used to advertise that "quality is job 1." I guess they dropped that before they got sued for false advertising.

It seems like it's a hit or miss with a Ford. I've heard great stories with Rangers up to 300k miles with no problem, I hear opposite stories too. You take a chance when you get a ford.
