Greetings, all! I've finally joined here hoping to be able to leverage the accumulated wisdom and experience of this forum.

My username is what my friends and family call me, as I have a habit of buying derelict or semi-derelict vehicles, refreshing or restoring them, and then selling them off so I can do it again. I'll add some pictures of prior projects to this intro thread soon.

The reason I'm here is that I figure it may be time to invest a little love in the Tacoma that has been a workhorse for a number of years. It is a '96 LX 4x4 Extra Cab with V6 and 5 speed. A great and reliable truck, despite the 274,000 miles on the clock. It's all stock original, except for the radio, shocks and the set of 17" late 4Runner wheels and tires.

On my list of things to do is find and fix an oil leak at the front of the engine, look into the ABS problem (code 36 - open circuit in RF or LR sensor), and perhaps paint it. Oil leak first.

    Since everyone loves pictures...

Well, it won't be much of a "build" as it is pretty much stock now, and will still be pretty much stock when done. But I'll start a thread in the 1st Gen forum to track it.
