    At 18 years of age I'd put just under a $20 dollar bill in the fill my empty 71 Olds 442. In 1979 premium was 2 cents a gallon more as I recall. 93 octane?

    Exact thing I did with my ‘69 Ram Air IV GTO Same time frame. A high compression motor with 10:75:1 ratio so I’d have to add a bottle of 104 octane booster to a tank of 92 to keep her running at her best. Problem was my gas gauge needle never worked so I was always filling it up and my one can to 20 gallon ratio wasn’t always the same from tank to tank.
