Hello all. I would appreciate some help and advice. I know UCA rubbing has been discussed in multiple other forums, but I could not find an answer to what I am asking. So please tell me if there's one I missed. Sorry for the long post.

I have a 2020 TRD PRO with a Westcott Lift installed. I had 33's put on a couple days ago. After speaking with the guys at Westcott, with a 2020 model no wheel spacers will be needed as the UCAs should clear. I get no rubbing on fenders or cab mount (great amount of clearance). However, when at full lock to the right I get the slightest amount of contact on the UCA on the driver side (I mean slightest) but when reversing in this position is when I notice it. Again, this is at full lock holding the steering wheel tight and when reversing a light low-pitched squeak sound (which I would assume is the tire rubbing but for all I know is something else). When at full lock I can still wedge a credit card between the tire and UCA.

I know things make sounds and I can be hyperaware of things which doesn't help. I also know my options are:

    1. wheels spacers (hub-centric)
    2. different wheels
    3. new UCA
    4. leave it be

My question is, if I were to just avoid that position on my turning components would I be safe to just leave it be? I don't rock crawl or anything like that. I haven't noticed it when turning at various speeds. Even the "off-roading" I do probably wouldn't even warrant the type of truck I have (just being honest and not going to act like I do what most of you do on weekends). I've seen other comments about people saying full lock turns are tough on steering components anyways and not something the truck should be stressed to. I'd appreciate any feedback as this in no way is my expertise. I plan to reach out to the Westcott guys if needed but wanted to give it driving at least a few weeks before doing so in case the tires tread wearing down will help or something of that sort. Thank you guys.

You missed the first and most obvious option: alignment.

If you're only rubbing on one side it isn't a wheel offset issue, it's probably a camber issue and an alignment should fix it up.

You really should get an alignment after any suspension changes anyways.

I didn't think of that. So when they put on the lift a week before I had an alignment done. I brought it back to them a week later to have the larger tires installed, is there a chance it would need a new alignment or maybe the original alignment wasn't good?

Yeah, the original alignment was probably fine but when you put the larger tires on, they need a different camber to clear the UCA.

    Yes, it's an alignment issue.
New shocks, New tires.... etc can cause this issue.
Get a new alignment and watch for uneven tire wear
