En route home on 321, fresh tank of gas from station we always used I found the tacoma vibrating when accelerating beginning at about 30 mph and continuing until I reached 50 or more MPH. This is NOT something that is difficult to hear/feel - it is most noticeable. TH vibration occurs in any/each of teh four forward gears (L,2,3,D)

it is a 2007 AUTOMATIC TRANS 5-lug wheels, one piece drive shaft with < 82,000 miles - less than 5K/Yr Avg. When it begins, if I let off the gas and 'coast' or give it just enough pedal to maintain 30 or 35MPH the vibration stops. When I start the car all the indicator lights appear as normal, then go out.

I checked the engine oil level and it was LOW, so I added several quarts and it made no difference.

The tires are relatively new and were balanced when installed. And, since the vibration only appears when 'pushing' or accelerating between 30 and 50 MPH and ceases as I let off the pedal it does not remind me of an out of balance tire.

This just happened 'out of the blue' on the seventy miles South - no issues. A third of teh way back North, I first noticed the vibration.

Anyone have a similar experience with a:
2007 STOCK BASE model AUTO TRANS 5-lug wheel Reg Cab 2WD 4cyl Tacoma?

Auto or Manual? When you say you added several quarts was this transmission fluid? If auto, does it happen when you drive in 4th gear?(D then flip shifter to the left) Does the vibration feel like you're driving over a rumble strip?

If the noise goes away when you press the clutch pedal it's probably the throwout bearing going bad

    Automatic Tranny
Added Engine oil. Tranny Fluid was up to the mark
    Happeni in every gear
In the sense that the vibrations are strong and close together, yes, like a rumble strip. However, the vibration does NOT feel as if it is coming from 'the road.' It seems to me to be coming from the drive train. Especially as shifting to neutral or just letting off the gas stops it.

Also, this just happened 'out of the blue' on the seventy miles South - no issues. A third of teh way back North, I first noticed the vibration.

Try driving it in 4th and see if you can duplicate the vibration and report back

    Heather:

You have a different issue altogether. You have a third generation truck with a manual transmission. Best for all concerned would be to start a NEW THREAD as I did so as not to confuse folks and 'hijack' the tread.

    Please

    Thanks

My vehicle has Four 'gear' positions on the shifter L, 2, 3, & D.

And, as I said (it is) "Happeni(ng) in every gear" meaning that I've tried shifting to different gear positions without noticing a difference - that is, the vibration occurs regardless the position of the shifter.

Driveshaft carrier bearing, if you look at your rear driveshaft it's a 2 pc. Where they meet in the center bolted to the crossmember is the carrier bearing.

    Thanks.

With respect, the driveshaft on my 2007 4cyl 2WD Tacoma base model does NOT have a 2-peice drive shaft between the rear of the transmission and the front of the differential.

    But, you made me look!
