I got hit in the bed of my Tacoma, missed the back wheel thankfully, can still drive and everything. I got pushed about 10 feet. I got some whiplash/ back and neck pain. But my truck, I’m being optimistic that it’s fixable and not totaled. Haven’t gotten it adjusted yet but, looks like no frame damage from what i can see. I’ve only had her for 3 months. I’m devastated

That good that you are okay. It should be fine and if somehow it does get totaled I would buy it back in a heartbeat.

What hit you? from looks of it, I assume a small or med SUV?

People are crazy out there, how do you miss a big ass truck like this and hit it that hard.

Damn, hopefully injuries subside, that’s most important!
Hard to tell if it took a side hit or from rear corner, if the rear corner, there’s a good chance the frame is affected.

Dodge charger, his airbags deployed. Lucky we are ok. But I’m just wondering how bad it is, after all said and done i was able to drive away and all no movement while driving. But could this affect the frame ( maybe) but does it affect the 4x4 off road part?

Wow, chargers are pretty heavy. Guess just another douchebag thinking they were race driver...glad u guys are ok. From picture it seems like frame might have been hit but look at both sides and see if one has any sign of bent or position change.

You could also drop pics here , lots of taco drivers here if not all. Some might know something about frame

Thankfully we both were able to walk away, I checked and not a bend in anything, jacked it up no wheel bearing problem. So hopefully she’s good. Yeah posted speed limit was 20 but from the video i got, ain’t no way he was going 20.

Make sure that back and neck pain isn't going to cause you any physical problems in the future.
you might feel fine now but any damage in or around your spine can really turn your life upside down if it's not addressed.

I did EMS for over 20 years in NJ. No EMT or Paramedic should EVER clear you at a scene of an MVA, especially if you complain of back and neck pain. You should have been boarded and collared and transported to the ER for a full set of X-Rays and a head/neck CT if the ER doc felt it was warranted. Once those all came back clean, then and only then would you be cleared, and it would be by a doc. Go get looked at in the ER. I can't tell you how many times I had patients that looked fine at the scene and when we followed up at the ER later in the shift ended up being admitted. Injuries, especially head injuries/bleeds, can show no outward signs of trouble until hours later.

3 month old stock truck hit and possible frame damage? You should be hoping this is written off, wanting a big repair bill in a vehicles history is nonsense.

Get to your primary care and get medical records running NOW of your issues. A buddy got hit similarly and weeks later things got worse in his back. All documented. Lots of legal drama by the insurance companies, but he was covered. Get injuries documented NOW. Get the EMT report and file it as well. Worst case, you lose some time and doc visit. Truck can be repaired.

Never sign and settlements for at least 3-6 months out to give yourself time to make sure you have no injuries later on.

Do you have GAP insurance on the truck to pay the difference if they total it?

Not trying to sound like a crook, but they'll screw you over the value of truck if they total it. The only way to come out close to even is personal injury claim.

    Typical is 3x medical bills.
    1/3 to the bills
1/3 to the PI lawyer fees
    1/3 to you

The insurance companies play this game everyday. They will screw you if you let them.

Y'all should have gone to the hospital in an ambulance to get checked out.

I've been thru this twice - neither accident was my fault. The first time I was ignorant of how it all works, but my PI lawyer taught me a few things to prepare for the next time.

Having this in a Carfax report will lower your resale / trade-in value. The only way to recover that lost value is to file a person injury claim.

Unfortunately, that the way business works.

Get you one of these. I seem to notice people staying a few feet farther back in town. Might have saved some damage to you ....but the Charger.......? Big ouch!:hattip:
On the highway I think I need more Armor. Idiots out there.
