    What’s up everyone.

I have 2017 TRD sport with Bilstein 5100s all around.

My truck sits slightly higher in the front which is what I wanted, but I’m wanting to get a camper shell and sometime in the future a travel trailer.

I don’t want the rear end to have a major sag with the shell or the trailer, but I’m not sure if I should get just a new leaf pack or keep the stock leaf springs and get airbags…

    Any thoughts?

    thanks!

If the weight will always be on the back, I'd suggest leaf springs to properly support it. If the weight comes on and off, then airbags are great since they don't affect the ride when empty, and you can add pressure to hold up the extra weight when it's on there.

Also, depending on the weight, you could add a leaf to the stock set for extra support as well

I often see a loss of about 1" with a topper and stock leafs.

Constant load, new leaf pack is the way to go. Varying load, air bags are best. HD Leaf pack will also raise your rear end, possible not to your liking. And if you do airbags, remember you don't need a fancy on board air system unless you want one. Can easily just air them up with a nice bicycle manual pump. They aren't all that high volume, and with less connections there are less likely to be leaks.

And this is all coming from someone with a heavy duty leaf pack, which I flat out love.
