upload_2023-10-13_5-56-49.jpgPOR-15 application. Finally got delivered and I had a decent mid 60’s sunny afternoon so I threw a couple coats on there. Currently hanging in the garage. Prepped the steel to the T and my dumbass put the POR15 on too thick so there’s some bubbles but nothing I’m worried about. Gonna paddle wheel if down this afternoon after work and do a final thin coat

I believe it was already mentioned, but in my location it is $400 including a $50 deposit to hold the appointment.

If you checked when it was hot, it should be filled to the Hot Max line.

    Just gettin’ started
10-minute cab side rail install turned to 90 minutes to extract another stuck screw. At least it came out. Going to save all the ones I extract and mail them to Toyota for Christmas :)

experimental designs released a product last month that lets you use the locker at anytime not just in 4 low. 2hi with locked diff and traction control off (it turns traction control off automatically when engaged) is some of most fun you can have. slides perfectly on them fast fire roads and no more embarrassing one wheel peels

Agreed. Bought a set of OE Toyota black chrome lug nuts here:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/174906398065

Came in sealed Toyota packaging. Much less expensive than from the dealership.

Agreed that's low and needs to be topped off. Question is, on a sealed system, why is it low? Worth having a look at everything to see if there's a leak. Could be a very slow leak so probably not dripping, but there would be evidence - at various connections, spray on other parts or frame, etc. Might be a good time to diagnose/fix anything and flush. Unless it's under warranty there's nothing special about the system so to save a pile of money I'd avoid the dealership and use a reputable repair shop (they can get OE parts), but that's just me. ;)

Let us know how it goes!

Awesome. Was wondering if it was this kit. Looks great except I wish it was full pnp without having to splice the 19 pin. They made a harness for the passenger side, they should have for the driver as well. I'll probably be getting it anyway though once the MK3 stops taking all my available funds.

Thanks, thats a good way to look at it. Like most taco owners we plan on keeping it forever or close to forever.

You make a good point about the rain. I am in FL so; we get a ton of rain at times. I will talk to the tuner and check out the different tunes to see what fits best.

Thanks for everyone's replies. This site is very knowledgeable, active and informative. Along with, a bank account drain.....LOL

Just finished up installing a set of side molle panels from Cali Raised. So much room to mount shit now!

Note: For people with Gator FX3 Tonneau Cover Part #: GHF-6610426 like myself that lowers the factory rail 2 inches their Bakflip version is compatible with the Gator cause it's pretty much the same design and mounts.

The section of text under here is for hopefully better search optimization for people with the same question for search engines so that it hopefully brings them here since that information at other sources I found wasn't very direct.

Do you have a Bakflip bed cover that lowers factory rail 2 inches? Gator Bakflip CaliRaised CaliRaisedled
    YES

meh its just a single wire t splice. having to add another pnp t harness for a single wire probably would have raised cost quite a bit. full install only took about 30 minutes.

AC drain mod. No idea how some of y'all were able to pull the heater hose completely over the old one. I'll check on it every few days.

    uhhhh....dog fur?
Woolwax'd as much as I could before I over heated my aging air compressor.
    Used fluid film previously...
The ww is definitely thicker, and takes more to cover well, hopefully it will last coated longer than ff

Sadly, it doesn't smell like a fire roasted sheep while driving down the street
