Never seen a moose. Now I see the difference. Is plural moose mooses, moose, or something different altogether like a gaggle of geese.

    Moose is singular and plural.
    They are herds.

Six PT Cruisers in one place.

Mrs Green had 2 of the damn things - she liked them and I like her so there is that...

Most miserable vehicle I ever had to work on, putting oil in is inconvenient (and you will), anything else is much worse.

What was the goal of the team or program? Youth sports is not supposed to be a training ground for professional sports or college scholarships. It is supposed to offer fun, learning about the sport, how to get along with others. How to work hard towards a common goal, and a ton of other small and big things. If those are your goals then how well a child plays a sport doesn’t matter. When I ran coaching clinics I challenged the coaches to change their measure of success. I asked them not to look at wins and losses or the talent level of the individual as a measure of success. I challenged them to measure success by how much effort each athlete was putting forth and to challenge the athlete to simply do their best. Measuring success by final outcomes of games is dishonest at best and demoralizing at worst. After all, if you take any 5 of us in this thread and we play any starting NBA team we aren’t going to do well no matter our effort level. If we measure our success by the outcome of the game we are utter failures despite doing are best. The goal of youth sports should be to develop the PERSON, not the outcome of the game. If developing the person is our goal then how we teach kids and what we focus on to measure success changes drastically. We have a lot better chance in youth sports of creating a healthy kid than we do of creating a professional player or getting a college scholarship.

Welcome back, Shawn. I missed you while you were away. This thread wasn’t the same so I stopped coming back with the jibber jabber and what not from these jive turkeys. o_O

I wish I had you as a coach when I was a kid. Nobody ever told me what was expected out of me until I did something wrong. It was like “Hey fatass, this end of the bench ain’t gonna get warm all by itself. And stop leaving that Cheeto dust everywhere.”

Harsh? That’s too strong a term. It was kind of annoying and boring reading it all but it wasn’t harsh. The important part is that this Shawn guy is back!!!

Good morning shop crew, we made it to the weekend!

I babysat the grandkids yesterday, headed over again today. No long truck drives, chainsaws or other manly projects for me this weekend.
