What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Just one more crevice for me to cram my cleaning brush in. I ain’t got time to bleed!

 

I run them in my Taco there a good way to prolong the life of the tire. The only negative is that you can hear them moving around when you take a really hard sharp turn at high speed, I also get more consistent mpg.

 

Today I figured out a stupid easy way to rig a table for cooking off my Yakima HD Rack



We always take this 2'x4' sheet of plywood to use a kitchen countertop on existing campground picnic tables or our folding aluminum table. Years ago I made a DIY awing that mounted the table in a similar position. Today I figured out how to mount it using just some cheap 1" webbing and two buckles.

The buckles allow to level the table even is the truck is not level



I just loop the strap through the horizontal bar on the end of the Yakima HD rack bar.



I had a couple of buckles left over from a forgotten project








I'll get a chance to see how it works next weekend.

 

Nice !! I bet since it has so much more travel and looks sweet doing it

 

Installed TRD Pro tail lights, I didn’t like the chrome that came with the TRDOR.





Also installed OEM bed lights while I had taillights off



Next replaced the gray/silver sticker for a matte black

 

Oil change?

 

Wait till guys hit 76 it doesn't get any better.

 

A couple of things coming out of today’s oil change:

1) Like many before me, the housing was torqued way too tight (prior oil change done by dealer). So much so I needed to turn my torque wrench into a breaker bar (yes, I know not advised)…and damaged the Motivx filter wrench in the process but did get it off.


2) Had decided to replace the plastic housing with the aluminum version. I set and lubed the o ring appropriately. All seemed fine though it was very snug while screwing back in. Proceeded to fill with the new oil, then heard the dreaded slow drip. Backed the housing out to find the o ring had snapped. Must have not been seated properly or overtightened or both. Learn from my mistakes…(went back to the original housing - may try the aluminum next time. No leak so far).

 

I put one of those 3 color thingy's in my grille. 'Frickin stylin now!

 

Hoping not having the stress of nine different roles at work will help.

Install tonneau cover and a flux capacitor decal, now I don’t need OTT

I've been posting about this issue for some time. Anyone who uses the motive filter wrench needs to use a socket over the top and not an extension. The extension will strip out eventually.

 

Cosmoline is a super old school term… Oem used to cover frames with it fir travel on boats abroad…
