If Tacos go that direction, I think there’s a market for a flip down drink holder mounted on the inside of the fuel door. Big gulps while you refuel and smell that sweet sweet gasoline vapor!

    (patent pending)

Never owned a new domestic. Never knew that it was a big deal to R&R a gas cap at fill up.

Learn something new every day. Thanks 3rd Gen talk!

Not sure if anyone knew this.. it wasn't just Fords that have the capless gas nozzle. My 2020 Honda Civic also had it. Being a truck, and it's probably going to be in some dusty/muddy situations, I'm glad it has a cap.

Had the cap-less fuel filler on a 2017 Rodgeline and hated it- there is no way that the flexy filler door makes as tight a seal as a screw-on cap.

    Triggered by the word "domestic"

The word is commonly used to group the legacy US auto mfgs f/k/a "The Big 3"

    Far from triggered. Mostly curious.
So do you drive a foreign?

I own a F150 and an Explorer in addition to the Tacoma. It's just different IMO, not better. You can get codes and a rough engine if you forget to put the cap back onto the fuel tank. That's never been an issue for me. It makes it harder to add gas from a fuel can. They come with a small funnel designed to fit in the fuel filler, but it is a lot easier to pour gas into my Tacoma from a gas can.

I own a variety of automobiles. German, Swedish & British (a/k/a european, import, foreign), Japanese (a/k/a asian, import, foreign) and yes, a couple of older domestics, too (a/k/a American).

For some reason you're hung up on a term which has been around for my entire life. I think most everyone else knows what "domestic" means in the context of a discussion about automobiles.

Honestly though, I don't care enough to continue with this...

    The more you know...

    Thanks for your thoughts.

I was thinking of giving my opinion but seriously, would it be of any value to either side?

We learn what we learn...some are open to other's opinions...some not.

I think we do care...it's just that others may not receive the message conveyed.

I’ve been rocking this cap for a few years. Comes in super handy.
