I've read a bunch of the skinny/pizza cutter tire threads and am curious if anyone was able to keep their OEM mudflaps and run a 255/75R17 tire on a 3rd Gen (2023 TRD OR)?

I'm putting my lift together 6112 w/650# coils set at 2" and 5100 Icon RXT leaf pack (stage 2 or 3) and confirming that I can fit this tire and keep the mudflaps. I have an SSO bumper w/ winch, front skid plate and plan to haul stuff (400-500lbs)in the bed occasionally. Sliders and more skid plates are also in the plans. It appears that most on here do not keep/have mudflaps.

I'm open to the wheel as I haven't purchased yet, but assume that I will need a 0 offset 17x8. I could run the TRD SEMA 4R wheel with 4mm offset if needed.

    Anyone doing this? Pics?

I used flat Amazon mudflaps for the front and mounted them where they pull in slightly at an angle. At full lock I still have .75-1” of space

Any idea if the OEM mudflaps would work? I'm hoping to find someone who has successfully kept the OEM mudflaps.

I’m either going to watch this thread, or post my results, whichever comes first. My shocks just came in today, and I’m planning to do the install over Labor Day weekend…6112/5160 front set at 1.7”, ICON rear AAL pack, with LT255/75R17 KO2’s mounted on gray SEMA wheels.

Right on! That's the exact tire and wheel set up that I am planning on using as well!

Were you able to get those tires/wheels installed with the front mudflaps?

Sorry, I did forget to post back. Technically, I had zero rubbing in the front (but by less than an 1/8 of an inch). The slightest suspension flex with the wheels turned would have been rub-o-rama. That being said, I removed the front mudflaps just to be certain. Plenty of clearance without those front mud flaps.

I haven’t had any sort of rock-flinging issues on the doors, but I have heard a few rocks zing off of the factory nerf bars.

The rear mud flaps have no issues.

Thanks KY_Rob! I'm still going to hope that an alignment with heavy caster may give me the clearance to keep the front mud flaps.

Those are good points and you may be right. I bought a set of JBA UCA’s, with every intention of installing them. However, I was unable to get the bolt out of the drivers side, so I tightened it back up to spec and left the passengers side alone. The alignment shop was able to get me back to factory numbers, and the truck drives great. Might have those UCA’s installed by a pro next spring, and see what that does for me.
