Can you share your thoughts about your burger?
    What kind did you get?
    Was it good?
Was it as good as a Kevin Bacon Burgers?

    Asking for a friend.

I tried the curd burger on my ride home from camping last Sunday. It's a burger with a gigantic cheese curd on it. It was actually better than I expected. I did feel like a whore afterward, though. :anonymous:

It's definitely no Kevin Bacon burger, though.

I agree! That's definitely the best 4Runner color.

For those curious on project garage, just went through quoting spray foam for the ceiling insulation...let's just say it's a tad costly.

BUT, I'm determined to have a good solution for myself and for future TW mod days. The next 6 months or so will see a big improvement from where it stands today.

I didn't brave the Curdburger. If I had, there may not be enough Mountain Dew Kickstart to keep me from nodding off on the rest of the way home. Just had a double butterburger with cheese and the works. It hit the spot as I was pretty hungry, but it ain't no Kevin Bacon burger.

Since you don't plan on this being the permanent solution, fiberglass insulation with drywall would probably do you just fine for the time being.

I agree with @OldSchlPunk . Fiberglass batting and drywall should do a good job keeping the weather out. And, since it will be less expensive than spray foam, you can use the money saved for some 37's for the 80.

That's when you go for the 5 hour energy. Those things were a godsend back when I used to go catfishing all night and drive home in the morning.

So, I had a pretty rough week last week, and the trip to Tigerton was the perfect way to get away and clear my head. There's really no way to be preoccupied with shit in your life when you're out on the trails. So refreshing and satisfyingly exhausting at the same time. I also brought along my friend Nick. Some of you met him at the New Salem brewery meetup last year. He has this week off of work and it wasn't hard to convince him to come along and experience our playtime for the first time.

@McSpazatron already posted some great pics of the truck and new wheels/tires in action. They did not disappoint.

    PXL_20231015_175335073.jpg

It was great to see him and meet the family he brought along. Nick and I stuck to level 3 and lower until Carlos got there with the winch, just in case I got too brave/stupid.

The Mickeys were pretty fantastic. I had braced Nick for the inevitable first crunch of steel on rock, but it never happened! Never touched a skid, slider, diff the whole time out there. I know @pearing will chide me for that and say I wasn't trying hard enough. That little extra bit of height and a whole lot more aggressive tread turned the truck into a new beast. I did have a great spotter in Carlos, and he was also impressed with the tires. We had to wipe the drool off his chin a couple times.

The park was as beautiful as ever in the fall chill.

    PXL_20231015_213323388.jpg

Back at camp Nick and I had some drinks, perfectly seared grass fed New Your strip steaks, buttered fingerling potatoes and some wonderful bread given to us by Carlos' super sweet mother. It was 41 when we went to bed around 12:15 and, as you saw, 29 at 7am. We didn't get rain, but woke I woke up to my bed tent covered in frost. Nick slept in the cab of the truck. It was cold, but we had prepped for it and slept warm enough.

We had a lazy Monday morning, drinking warm coffee and chatting. Then we packed up and decided on a road trip to Rib Mountain. I have heard talk of it on here and I'd never been. Throughout that part of the state on the drive, there were patches of intense color and places that were past peak. The park itself was fantastic!

    PXL_20231016_155410853.jpg

We climbed the impressive observation tower.

    PXL_20231016_160654594.jpg

On the way up I, of course, spotted interesting joinery in the beams.

    PXL_20231016_155700391.jpg

    The view were breathtaking.

    PXL_20231016_160011983.jpg

    PXL_20231016_160309464.jpg

If you've never been, I highly recommend it. I want to go back for a day and try out the various hiking trails throughout the park. It was a memorable two days, and I can't wait to get back out again and punish the truck, but I'm not sure if that will be before spring. We'll see...

One thing to mention about the Mickeys... it was cold last night and two of us were sleeping in the truck along with gear and tires still aired down to about 18. When we aired up and got rolling this morning, right out of the park we noticed a pretty rough vibration and were quite concerned at first. I was about ready to pull over and do a visual inspection when it seemed to start to fade away. Our assessment was the big E loads probably had a bit of a flat spot from overnight to work out. As the tires heated up a bit it disappeared and we breathed a sigh of relief.

Oh there will be some mods all right
I've experienced a couple tires over the years that flat spot after sitting. It's always kind of nerve-wracking at first but then you get used to it.
