Ditching front steel bumper and tires for better mpg

    Personally, I'm an inexperienced driver in freezing conditions so I would be looking for winter compound below 20*s F. That's bridgestone blizzak or toyo observe or similar, or ask your favorite professional.

    you might be able to save 20lbs per wheel going with a lightweight 265/70r17 (toyo at3 and michelin defs are 40lbs here). I dont know how that would actually translate to your mpg.

    Can you park somewhere warmer overnight?

    And yeah, I think there was a Toyota recall on block heaters because they were burning up their cable insulation.

    Yup. Remove oil cap and park Prius underneath it. Re-install oil cap. Problem solved
