    Hey Gang,

The Slave cylinder on my 2008 4.0 is going bad so I ordered a new one and when it came I took it out of the box to inspect it and the shaft is "floppy" and wiggles around. Is it supposed to do that or did I get a broken one? I've never changed one before but assumed the shaft would be only able to move in and out and not wiggle side to side.

Sounds normal to me, it's just a rod with a ball socket on each end. The dust boot essentially keeps it from falling out until its installed.
