Sorry if this has been covered, I looked but I am tired old dog tonight.

I have a brand new 23 4dr TRD OR with an ARB Summit Bumper and a Rough Country 20" bar light. I want to put it on the bumper in the center on top of the winch box and am concerned about the crash sensors being blocked.

One side, I have driven for 35 years without the technology and someone even mentioned today the crash sensor on a newer Toyota get glopped up with snow/slush/gunk and actually caused it to activate the brakes and they had Toyota turned it off. I am sure that is a slim chance of happening and that is just one person.

Other side I have a friend who said his Tundra sensors kicked on and saved his ass.

Anyone with experience in this situation that could send some light on it? You all are great for info and if there is a link or input, I would appreciate it.

Do you have or are you planning on getting a winch? If not I’ll bet it’d fit nicely behind the plastic grille of the summit.
If you do/are; depending on how thick the light bar is, you may be able to avoid blocking the sensor by rigging it to sit as far back as possible below the oval Toyota logo.
Only one way to find out…

I haven’t dealt with that area of the bumper specifically, but with the “stone shield” off, it ought to be pretty straight forward.
Just looking at the product page for that light bar it seems like you’ll need a custom bracket at the very least.
Be sure and post pics when you get something going!
