I have a 67 4x4 short bed, paid $250 when a soldier driving it said he needed the money and the engine blew outside of Fort Knox, 351 went out and was rebuilt too many times, walls were too thin for a rebuild. Has had a 360 in it since 1996; gets 4-6mpg. Can’t drive anymore but will never part with it.
    Love it though.

    Pretty sure it's 428 cobra jet. Don't know 100%

He's selling the dart sport also.

Hard to know with out casting #’s
I think the Windsor used the same thermostat mounting location. So maybe it’s a Windsor?
I’m not too familiar with fords.
@Dm93 you want to take a “guess”?

Yea you really need casting numbers to know for sure what you have, alot of Ford engines in the same family look identical.
It looks like it's an FE Family engine but there's a ton of variants in that engine family.

Can help to identify if you take a picture of where the intake manifold meets the head. Ford big blocks from this era the valve cover gasket will actually overlap the intake manifold because the intake manifold forms the upper half of the head top.

Yep it's a Ford FE big block. So that's pretty cool. Now we just need to figure out if it's a 390 or a 460. There are a couple other sizes it could be but since it's in a truck unless it was a swap out of a car it's probably one of those.

Definitely not a 460, a 460 would be in the 385 engine family. They don't have flanged exhaust ports.

@RustyGreen can probably identify the motor. A casting # would definitely help.

Ah you're right that was post FE era

Most likely a 390 if I had to take a wild stab at it, that was the most produced and most common truck big block. The 360 was a truck option too but usually earlier trucks than this.

I know you said not original but 360s and 390s were used for trucks.

It has ports for a smog pump on the heads but they are plugged.
