Old Ford Motor identity???

Ford FE series, the most common versions are 352, 360 & 390.
The 360 was only installed in light trucks, never any cars.
There were also heavy duty FT versions designated 361/391 used in medium duty trucks like an F-600, school bus or C Series cab overs.

These engines are not related to the "385 series" 429/460 engines.

Lots of "390" engines being sold turn out to be 352 or 360...
The only external way to ID a 390 versus the other 2 is to pull a spark plug and measure the stroke.
352/360 = 3.5"
390 = 3.78"
428 = 3.98"
Most of the blocks have 352 cast into them regardless of the actual displacement.

Man I am just trying to get my mind around that. Either would be smooth as hell, or all hell would break loose if forces exceed spring pressure. Or only come into play at bottom and top.

Seems like a Honda idea before its time.
