2nd Gen AT Temp Mode and just a few drops from overflow…

Did a drain/refill on my transmission. I pulled out around 2 1/3 qt, and replaced about 3.5 qts of fluid.
Ran the AT Temp mode check using the wire trick. After the light came back on and I checked the overflow, I only got a drop or 3. It was late I called it a night.
Today after work I added almost a qt and ran the AT temp check again but left it in neutral while the light came back on… still only a drop or two from the overflow… should I it cool down again and run the AT Temp check with it in Park? I was expecting a trickle at least from the refill.

Advice please,

 

It may have been low from the factory but you are supposed to put it in park to check the fluid level.
