The reason I am asking this question is that I was able to set up my Veepeak to show the temps of the four Cats. Yet the forward driver Cat is always about 400 degrees higher than the other three. This is true even when the truck is cold ?? Is this a concern as I am still withen warrenty ?? Apologies in advance if this is going to be criticized as a Friday question. The photo is during normal operating temps. Thanks Scott

As far as i know only diesels have actual EGT sensors. Pretty sure your scan tool software is just plunking a number on the screen to make it look like it's capable of more than it is.

Our gasoline engines only monitor oxygen content in the exhaust - fancy Air/fuel ratio sensor before the cat and reg old style oxygen sensor after the cat

Ya thats not accurate at all, at best it can maybe calculate exhaust temps but what you're seeing is a fiction number to make the scanner seem like a kool kid.

Also if you have a problem with your cats it would throw a code swiftly

Thank-you so much for that !! I really just use the Veepeak for the normal gauges that aren't on the dash cluster. Love the trans temp. gauges to see how my coolers are doing. Saw the Cat option and thought I would try it. You guys are quite helpful here. Much appreciated !! Best Regards Scott
