    The hell if it cant.
I tow 5000+ with my 3rd gen easily for years. Brake controller and firestone air bags. Flat terrain, hills might be different, never experienced.
Better then my 2nd gen did. I have a Tunny also, and before I bought the 4th I would buy a full size. The air bags level this truck to ANY load. A highly recommended mod.
You think they put these specs out without engineering testing or just social media posts ???
Not one issue on my first year taco (7 years !)other than a 3rd brake light leak which I had a loaner for 8 weeks, of 2023 models which rode crapier than my 3rd did with my upgraded fox suspension and firestone air bags and high end tires.
This bs about 1st year models is bs. Now I have to admit I had as close to a 2017 build as you could probably get. The engine nor tranny did not change over the years, just flashed which I had done. Yes there were other minor improvements, nothing that said wow different truck. Acceleration is adequate for me, I seriously don't get what people want other than they don't like the rpm and shift zones. Get a sports car then. Do you like these vehicles that shut the engine off at stop lights to increase mpg specs lol ?
4th gen for me ? No way. When I see they want $9000 for a head replacement on here, now you add a turbo and a drill motor with battery and lower the tow spec on a 4 banger, after the 7 year warranty is up you will be biting nails !
My 2016 does everything I need it to do and tows more than the 4th gen. Period.
If this truck did not do what I needed I would have not kept it for 7 years.

Damn that’s a lot of words for someone who hasn’t driven a truck with 50lb-ft more peak torque 3300rpm sooner…nor has ever pulled uphill

Wow 50 ft lb sooner. Big deal. At the added expense of a turbo on a 4 banger and a drill motor only on take off lol.
    Go for it.
Does it turn on and off at traffic lights also yet for better mpg ? Or is that an upgrade next year with a snorkel ?
Get caught up in that extra cafe expense of a 4 banger.
Read the post, I have a Tundra also.

50 more peak lb-ft delivered at 1700rpm instead of 5000rpm is a pretty significant difference.

and that’s without the hybrid system

Towing capacity and how a vehicle tows aren’t always correlated. My ambulance camper is rated to 18,000lbs GCWR. It has 185hp. You wanna know how shitty it is towing 10,000lbs?

Ratings are only part of the story.

And that's why it is rated at a lower tow load. Got it.
You won't legally tow what I can no matter how better you feel about it.
Good mall crawler for mulch etc.
3g gets it done, period, without ALL the extra expense on a cafe 4 banger.
