    Interesting
    Colder = higher ohms

    tested mine and reads 1.8
Multi meter set at 200ohm k
    It’s 78degrees in garage now

per the chart if 212degrees should read 2.0 ohm k

so sensor reading like it’s 220degrees when it’s 78degrees outside

    guessing here
when engine hot sensor would throw a ‘less than zero’ reading….and ECM just can’t decipher the negative reading and no start issue occurs?
    Hmmmm

I hate throwing parts at a problem without 100% confirmation, but for $15…..I’m going to try

I’m I totally off base here?

If a leaking injector is causing a hot no restart...
.....then you should be able to pull plug(s) and find the offending injector(s).

switching to a dry plug would send you on your way...

holding the pedal down at start cuts fuel at startup...

    Plugs are all good(not wet)
Just RR’d distributor O ring and removed plugs to get to TDC Thursday

Of course the most common cause for a hot no restart....

is head gasket beginning to fail.............or the valve crack thing....

again .....dry plugs send you on your way.......
.......way better than burning up a starter.....

I’m just asking if my ohm reading diagnosis of my IAT sensor holds water

[QUOTE="Lisa~. My service engine light is on so I took it to Auto Zone, they ran a rest & it kicked out the MAS, which is over $200 at Auto Zone, the gu y that ran the test told me if it doesn't start to unhook the MAS & if it will start this the MAS is bad.[/QUOTE]

This worked for me too, but you don’t need to unplug it, just pull it out of the plenum, blow on it and wave it around a bit, say the magic words, stick it back in, and crank it up!
I think leaking injectors means leaking seals, because it’s worse when the motor is heated up, and the rubber relaxes, so fuel rail can’t get up enough pressure to start.
Replacing those seals is a tough job for those of us equipped with big hands!
Nothing wrong with reviving an old thread, the issue is still relevant.

    ^^^^interesting

where is the extra fuel going?

so would the fuel leaking into cylinders?
    or
back thru fuel return line and into tank?
    thanks

It’s mostly squirting all over your hot engine and evaporating!

The term "leaking injectors" usually refers to the injector spray itself, not the o rings. It's possible that the injector emits fuel when it's not supposed to, for various reasons (dirty, bad gas, old injector, etc). This case usually leads to a misfire.

Leaking o rings will leak high pressure fuel onto to the manifold, and is a much more serious and dangerous condition.
