Am concerned about the front Bosch o2 sensor I installed today on the old 98; much shorter reach than the denso original. (sprang for it since was $55 instead of the denso $115) I mean half the length of the denso business end. Remember guys that exhaust pipe has a housing or mount built up for bolting on the sensor flange; I could see there is no way the tip of sensor will be in the exhaust stream like the denso was. Sure, the tip sits in the housing probably a half inch from the stream. Anyone know if a o2 sensor tip needs to be fully in the exhaust stream ? Maybe will find out the hard way when I get the battery next week to start this up. Just can't have that code P0420 or whatever it was coming up again during the smog test. Geez!!
