3rd Gen S-mode not working

    2017 Tacoma SR5
    S-mode won’t work anymore. I usually drive around mountain roads in Colorado and use S-mode as much as I can to engine brake and not kill my brakes. Today I was using it and it would no longer down shift. I put it back in Drive and tried S-mode again and it would just stay in drive according to the dash. The shifter S-mode light does work. Any suggestions before I take it to get checked out?
