Now I have a full 6” of up travel and about 9” of droop

 

A spacer would be the fix if I where rubbing on my UCA but pushing the tire out further into the plastic and cab mount is not going to fix rubbing in that location. It would make it worse

 

I think the biggest outlier here is what wheels are paired with the spacer. As your pointing out increasing offset increases scrub radius increasing rub points especially the cab mount.
If your on stock stock wheels at +33 and slap on a 1.25 spacer pushing it out to more or less 0 then your right in the sweet spot BUT if you do the same on pro wheels which I believe are +4 your in for a fight and alot of chopping to make that 285 clear. I can't comment on offroad wheels offset as I don't know.
What I did learn is embrace the chop as before you know it that 0 offset you were happy with will eventually turn into -25 or -38 before you know it.

 

You seem to have more problems than I did or most that put on a 33” tire… idk what to say. Pay your local 4x4 shop to figure it out for you

Delays my install by a week, but that should fix any issues right?

Your best to outline your goals for the truck is it going to be mainly street use camping rig or do you want to wheel it?

Fitting larger tires and lifting is a very 3 dimensional thing which leads to many aspects over looked. I would slow down a touch before throwing money at it without doing some more research.

 

Goal atm is, replace my bald tires with ones suitable for winter.

Eventually want to do 33's so skipped buying stock size for ~4k worth of mileage.

Already ordered the 33's after a few beers, they are here.

Looking for an economical solution to get them on my truck in the next couple weeks and through winter before I go with an actual legit suspension lift setup.

I want to end up with 33's, just pulled the trigger to early, and it's gonna snow here very shortly. 1/32 tread depth isn't going to cut it.

Atm I'm hydroplaning in light drizzles. New tires are essential and didn't want to blow $1000 on a stock set that I would be replacing in a couple month's for 33's anyways.

So, stock 17 Offroad 4x4 rims fit the tires, they need to be 0 offset. 1.25" spacers should give me that.

2.5/2 leveling kit should give me the clearance I need right? I saw a video where someone did it with no lift, and just used a heat gun a bit.

Should I also buy the diff spacer, sway bar drop bracket, and 2.5* shims for it?

Late end game goal:

Take a few hundred $ loss on anything I am doing today, and get a proper 2-3" suspension lift. Uca's, coilovers, aftermarket leaf's, ect. Just need to not wreck my truck in the snow in the mean time.

Drive it to/from work 98% of the time, take it camping, (Dirt roads) and maybe an offroad park 2-3 times a year.

 

I said if I where rubbing as an example to the situation. I've done my lift and everything works great, I'm speaking from my own experience when doing mine and trying to help @GunthorNC . there's also 160 pages here in this thread and tons of other threads over and over on this forum about this so I'll just leave it since you want to argue.

It's kind of sad though if I was having an issue with my tacoma on a tacoma forum rather than respond or PM me you'd say take it to a 4x4 shop and pay them to figure it out. That's probably why we see so many new people hop on here excited as hell and then they disappear after only a short time.

 

The lift will help you clear at ride height but the second you turn and hit any sort of bump your likely going to hit that cab mount. Will it work temporarily sure. Just expect the potential for driveline vibrations via the front diff needle bearing or drive shaft as those are common issues that arise.
With the stock uca you may see some positive camber wear on the tires aswell. As there's no good way to correct camber on a stick uca.
By the time you make this work your probably better to just find a shop to get the chop done quick.

Side note I'm back on 285's for the winter with this fresh set of studded G017's. I'm going to miss my 295's till spring

I've been eyeballing the JBA UCA's. They seam fairly stout, and low maintenance. Just grease them.

You seam to know your stuff, I'm currently debating between the standard caster and the high caster ones. From what I'm seeing, High caster UCA will move it closer to my body mount (bad) so I'm leaning towards the standard UCA instead. Why would someone go with a high caster UCA if it makes fitment more difficult?

Contacted a offroad shop today, so doing a CMC isn't out of the question, I'll probably get it done even if it's not strictly necessary. Just hung up on the UCA's atm. Watched a couple hours worth of video's on them, but its just not clicking why high caster uca's would be preferable if they wind up moving the tires back.

 

Higher caster comes into play with more lift to correct the caster to a stock position. I have no knowledge with JBA but I am currently running dirt kind uca's that have 3.5 degree caster built in and I was able to run a 285 on a +1 wheel without a chop with a 2.25 lift up front. I'll dig around and see if I can find my alignment sheet for exactly where my caster ended up.

 

How’s the ride, power loss, and fuel mileage? Considering a set of those coopers

 

They ride pretty well. Very quiet. There is obvious power loss but worth it in my opinion. Tune helps. I can get almost 19/20 mpg if there aren’t many hills. The tires are very good off-road and have an aggressive look for an AT tire.

 

what mods did you have to do to fit?

Yes it will I’ve got mine mounted on the spare rim . It’s a little German and good-n-tight but she fits
