    None so far
Going on a trip and would like to use the USB cable plugged into the port on the dash for my phone so I can use WAZE for directions but also use the port for music I downloaded to a thumb drive. Is it an either or situation or is there a way to use both for travel on my 2021 Tacoma. Not an expert on the use of Bluetooth and Apple Car Play. Or should I ask how to use at the same time. I am confused also.

Not going to work. You must be plugged in to use your phone navigation as bluetooth won't to run Android Auto or Apple Car Play. Bluetooth will play music/etc on your phone, but won't connect to the screen to allow visual. I know they make a gadget that will allow you to use Android auto / Car Play as a bluetooth source, but I believe that even has to be plugged into the USB.

I remember reading about a USB splitter working, but it wasn’t specifically about CarPlay. Could be worth a try. Or just put the music on the phone..

One of those things I guess...
Found out a couple years ago that if you want to use (Bluetooth) WAZE (Best app ever!) The USB for a memory stick... Or vice-versa.... You can only use one at a time.
But I did find out that if you have (example) YouTube Music on your phone and have a 'playlist'... Both that and WAZE going on at the same time on Bluetooth, WAZE sleeps until it says 'Turn left in 300 feet' kinda' thing. Ehh, it's not perfect, but it works...

I'm far from a tech, but I have been using Waze and Pandora at the same time with the USB port. Just added a "dongle" that stays in the port and it auto syncs to the phone even in my pocket. Waze is spectacular - and these free music apps have just about everything you would ever want to listen to.
