So is everybody using the snow stage 3 controller? Curious if the snow VC-50 or the rpm controller is worth considering. I just hate how bulky that stage 3 is.

Naye, I run a Stage 1 and Stage 2 system simultaneously... so no control unit. Keeps it simpler for me.

Soaking them in CLR works well from what I hear

So I bought some boost juice from a guy in the local car scene here, he went 100% methanol recently and wasn't going to use it. Well, I was in for a bit of a surprise. The apparent surge (by butt dyno at least) is quite a bit more pronounced than with my hacked fluid through the local supplier which has a range of 30-60% methanol according to the MSDS - and probably some other additives. When the second stage kicks in, I feel what seems like a 5-10% surge by butt dyno and the boost drops about 2psi at the same time.

Guess I'll keep using the boost juice from now on. Can't cheap out on my baby. Or at least she doesn't want me to cheap out.

I mixed some actual 50:50 and ran quite a few tanks of it and didn't notice a difference from the blue -40 degC washer fluid I get at Princess Auto. Researched a bunch and found the -40 blue washer fluid is pretty much exactly a 50:50 mix.

    50:50 Meth:Water Mix = 3.78 L methyl hydrate : 3.4 L distilled water

This mix had the same blueish tinge that the washer fluid has so I feel no dye or detergents are added to the washer fluid.

I will admit it could be confirmation bias. I will see how it goes over the next bit, maybe the effect will level out to how it was before. But I stick to my butt dyno results lol

Weren't you using that yellow shit from Costco? If you were I'm thinking there's a good chance there were additives in it that weren't conductive to boost and now you're running cleaner stuff and noticing a difference.

Originally used yellow stuff from CT but they stopped selling it. Then I used some blue and green stuff I found at WalMart, so who knows about what was in that.

I always thought they added blue to washer fluid cause when I rebuilt my SC a couple years back everything was coated in greenish blue. The actual meth mix seems to have the same hue. Boost juice is pink so maybe coloring doesn't matter but some washer fluids do seem to have detergents and magical ingredients.

Installed a bling tank upgrade. Had my friend weld in a sump for extra safety too.

I’m going to ask, what is the recommended kit for our trucks?

Difference between Snow Performance 2 and 2.5?

I think the recommended kit would be based on your preference for how you'd like the system to work with your engine. Are you doing it for safety, i.e. knock protection? If so, then a 2 kit would work well. I run a 1 and 2 at the same time though, because I like redundancy. Good thing I did too, because the stage 2 stopped working on me recently - need to pull things out now and figure out where my wiring is buggered...
