To add to the dog pile. I also went with a high clearance rear bumper and cut off most the damage when a snow plow hit my rear. And now. The next goon that hits my rear will likely die from a face full of steel

they make HC bumpers with bsm cutouts do they not? Mine has them.

I just did this on mine after a hit and run side swipe, it's not a difficult job, just lots of clips and bolts to undo, the entire side panel is one piece. The whole project took me ~6 hours and cost about $1500, which was about what I got from insurance after my $2k deductible. I did it myself because they wanted to do a bondo job (fuck that Progressive). If you can use a socket wrench and have a Saturday to devote you can do this job. If an oil change is a 1/10 I'd give this a 3/10 difficulty, as you need some semblance of problem solving ability to find alllllll the bolts and clips.

-I ordered the beside painted from OEMPAINTEDPARTS.com - they don't have it listed but if you email them they will do it for you. Originally they said no because they thought the bedside was welded (it's not). My cost was $1300 for the long bed (6') so I imagine yours would be a little cheaper. However, I live in Colorado and picked it up from them (they're in Loveland, CO), so not sure what shipping is. They did a fabulous job though and the paint matches perfect. They got it done in 10 days, which was crazy considering they had never had it ordered before. You can also just order the bedside direct from your Toyota dealer / online and get it painted locally.
-Ordered a painted bumpercap from Tacovinyl ($120) in hindsite, I wish I would've got this from OEMPP too, even though it was a bit more expensive, the cap from TV took a long time to come and was aftermarket with less good paint, still matched just has some runs on it.
-Ordered 2x specialty

$11 Genuine Toyota 90269-06017 Fuel Tank And Tube Rivet

rivnuts from Toyota (1/4" drive, larger than most guns) for the gas cap
-reused fender flare (buy new clips) and gas cap and rubber bits - ordered some extra 3M tape for the FFs
-bought used replacement taillight from TW for $60
-You can order bedside decals on ebay etc for like $10 if you so choose
-The OEM bumper is easy, should be able to find a used one around TW or CL - I got one for $100, but there are ones free a lot. The bumper is actually a bunch of plastic pieces bolted to a thin metal top-plate, which you can disassemble with the bumper still on the truck, so I just used the left plastic piece from the bumper I bought, made for quick work. YMMV based on the extent of the damage. Word of caution, pop out the license plate light before pulling the step cover up, I didn't and broke the light and had to buy a new one ($15)

I would add the flares and misc. rubber pieces onto the new bedside before putting the bedside on, makes it easier when it's all off and on the ground. The bedside is not heavy, so you could do it by yourself, easier to have a buddy help though due to its size.

Thanks for the detailed response and info Robo! Your damage is very similar to mine, you've inspired me to tackle this job on my own. After looking more closely I don't think I'll need a whole new bumper, just the left bumper extension and bumper end cover. The details for removal can be found on this thread post #8.

If you have a high tolerance for frustration then go to town, just don't blame it on the truck if it doesn't work out.

As in blind spot monitoring? Doesn't that come from the mirror? I disabled mine by switch, but I don't remember seeing any sensors, modules, or cables that would indicate the stock bumper was anything more than a place to plug in the plate lights and 7pin.

And I also say high clearance bumper and new tailights. I wouldn't even bend it back perfect. It's a badge of honour.

BSM sensors are inside left and right rear bumper caps sir.

Job done Thanks to everyone for the help, no way I could have done it without this forum. Job total cost was ~$2400 using all OEM parts, I was able to salvage the BSM monitor module and parking sensors.

A few tips:

Take the bumper off before trying to do any bumper assembly repairs, so much easier to access everything. Plus it needs to be off so you have space to slide the bed forward to access the rear bolts. It's just 5 bolts on each side.

If you have the time and patience try to source used OEM parts on Ebay, FB market, or TW. Much cheaper than buying OEM from the dealer, especially if you need to paint it as well.

Have the body shop remove the gas door and have paint it with the new panel. They should be able to rivet it on for you as well.

Buy T-35, T-40, & T-55 torx bits!
