Black out shifters

Here’s my interior mods so far: 500 grams shift knob from ssco (eBay)
Black 4wd knob (eBay)
Black leather shift boot which my mom sewed
What y’all think? wanting to do a steering wheel swap next but have heard it’s dangerous

When I did the 4WD conversion, I swapped in the 4Runner tcase shift boot and AT shifter (kept the Tacoma grey OD button) and also added the shift knob from a FJ Cruiser.

 

just remember to disconnect the battery and wait about 30 minutes before doing the swap. I changed mine without any issues, and will have to remove it one more time to replace the clock spring.

That part I know of.
I was planning on swapping with an is300 wheel but was let known that the airbag is designed differently for a car vs truck, and that the impact of that airbag in my truck could do fatal damage to me. But I’ve seen it done before so I wonder, is it actually safe, or are they running with no airbag?
