    That second photo... wow.

The framing, the way the tire size is perfectly rotated into view, the bottom deflection on the rock... damn. Nicely done!

Must have just missed you! Came through from Tahoma to Loon Thursday night through yesterday. Did run into @RokMgmt up at the top of Big Sluice, though.

    Hey all…

for those who have Travis’s rack and are using the metal eccentric bushings that adopted to the Stock Mounts:

Has anyone seen a problem with the rack shifting left and right?
What about torque on the steering rack bolts with these aluminum bushings. I talked to the OEM spec, but should I go tighter
    ?

I’m still having this problem where whenever I go off road, even with very mild, driving in honestly zero eh loops or jumps whatsoever, my alignment will get very far off. Mostly the toe.
Right now I have Stock lower alignment cams but I have marked those with paint pen to see how far they would move, and oddly enough, they showed no movement on their orientation before and after and off road trip.
Regardless, I am getting some Marlin crawler gussets along with cab tab gussets, as well as hexagonal alignment Cams.

although I cannot visually see the steering rack change position, and I think it’s got to be the culprit. I have also marked with paint, pen, the tie rod arms in case they had gotten loose and turned in/out did not see any evidence of that.

My most recent alignment, the tech noted that the steering rack seemed to be positioned higher up on the driver side than the passenger side, but he did not notice anything else drastically out of whack.

The last possibility I am considering, is that the lower control arm tabs/mounts them selves are starting to bend very very easily, at the moment they have no, gussets unfortunately. I did take some measurements from a known good truck, but they didn’t seem to be bent as best. I could tell width measurement, going back to a crossmember.

any ideas what might be going on?

    thanks!

When i had the rack, i think mine did move the bushings a bit. I also crushed/pulled through the bushings on the drivers side before

hmmm makes me wonder if going back to the 1st version of mounting is better. I am getting my rack installed right now with the eccentric bushings.

at this point, I’m no more convinced that it’s really the problem, as I am that it’s not.
There just as well could be some other things going on with my front end, but I have gone through most everything else at this point though.

The Marlin lower control arm gussets won't work with the hexagonal tabs to lock the alignment.

Ah- looking at the tabs now I think you’re right. Marlin states that can be modified to fit previously installed gussets but I wasn’t thinking with these…

So I've thought about drilling and tapping the front of the bushing mounts of the rack body and installing set screws to lock the bushings in place that would fix that problem if that's the issue

That it would. I’ll try to verify that actually what’s happening with mine.

A 1/4" set screw should be plenty

Are you thinking a set screw that locks the bushings in the correct orientation in the rack, or the rack to the frame?
