TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

I live in Houston and this are my mods and I been told that I max out my TRD supercharger so I'm not sure even if I could go down to a 2.75 pulley?

Mods done to my truck

1)Exhaust gears

2) 2.8 pulley

3) FPR mod, + super charger bypas valve adjusted

4) NST pulleys complete front engine package

5) AEM fuel pump + external fuel filter

6) URD spec U equal length headers and Y pipe

7) TRD Cold air intake

8) Mishimoto Radiator + 170 thermostat

9) 488 NITRO gears and true positraction

10) Computer tuning was also done

 

The guy above has a 400 WHEEL horsepower truck you can go much lower

 

That's a bit out of context. You were told/advised you're not going to get 400whp with your setup and that you'd need a good deal "more" to reach your target.

2.5 pulley here at mostly ~1100 feet with about 8-9lbs at that elevation... but go up anywhere between 4-8k pretty regularly.

 

That is exactly what I needed , and puts it into perspective here at sea level

 

depends on your elevation as well. I definitely felt the change from picking up the Taco in Seattle to arriving in Colorado.

 

Not surprising that the switch to E85 made him close to 70 HP. That is right in line with the majority of gains on most boosted applications. I can only imagine how much of a kick in the ass that feels like on the Tacoma when you smash the go pedal. Lol.

 

I must have some restrictions then still with stock. I am seeing about 8 at WOT I was seeing higher before we tuned it more.

 

i do if i drive it. if i go hard the 2nd stage happens. i just guess with settings. i probably need a canadiain to tune it to full potential.

Depends on that ELEVATION variable.

I remain happy with a 2.5" RIP-modded pulley on a Qwikchange Hub, supported by @Roostfactor's Pulley Wrap Mod, that produces peak boost of ~6-7 psi at ~6K-7K ft.

at the risk of sliding right past the obvious, whats a snout cutter? i need to do mine sometime but i was just gonna take it to our neighborhood friend up in vista =D

 

Yeah swapping out a pulley to snout cut seems not like a 1 armed task haha
