EDIT the weatherstripping was oxidizing and turned white instead of the usual black with the cold weather and it look different than before. Cheers everybody I’m gonna go put on the ski mask ;-)

Is this gap normal? I bought the truck new but just saw this gap for the first time today after 44000 km
I can’t remember seeing the cushion stripping in the past. It’s bright white and it has never caught me eye before. Now I can see in both sides easily A523E645-3BE5-408F-9E85-F70C7E2D9077.jpg

Need more than one angle. See the other side too. Have you looked at the mounting bolts and the rubber mounts? Frame?

    The other side …..
I saw it late today and haven’t checked bolts and frame. I’ll contact a garage tomorrow. Just wondering if it is an obvious issue to others. Do you have a tacoma? Is this how yours looks?

Yeah, more pics needed. Maybe with a ruler for reference. I just looked at my '23, and I do have that strip, but mine is black.

I’d say the gap is more than 1.5-2” at the top and .5” at bottom…looks like the box is tipped like a dump truck a wee bit

now wondering if it got hit or something

That's how it should be. Plenty of space between the bed and cab. The frame flexes an insane amount. I have marks on the back of my cab when the bed came in contact with it.

Yeah, I agree with @SoonToBeOn35s . The gap looks fine. You want that. The strip color is different than mine though.

Seems it’s a bigger gap at the top and way less at the bottom…now wondering if someone hit it or?

If you'd actually post a good picture of it, like from the side instead of at a high angle. People might be able to give you a better idea of if it's a normal amount or not. You're saying the gap is 4x larger at the top than it is at the bottom, how is anybody supposed to see that from the angles you chose?

If you're worried you're to ugly for the reflection, put a ski mask on while you take the picture.

I wouldn't sweat it too much. I'd be more worried if it was too close to the cab. Either way, Toyota will tell you it's within spec, so you get what you get.

That's how mine was too. I have fiberglass bedsides now and the top has a much bigger gap compared to the bottom.
