I’m looking to install an amp under my passenger side seat . I was planning on running speed wire down behind the dash , through the center console and exiting under the seat . I would like to cut this and solder ends on it in advance. What length do I need to accomplish this ?

I used two 20’ lengths and had a little cut off of each one, but I ran over to the passenger side and down the door sills, then back across the back wall to the driver side to my amp

if you’re going down the console, 12’ in each direction might be fine. I’d try that 25’ roll and put a piece of tape in the middle. Then run it one direction BEFORE cutting to make sure you’ve got enough length

It's likely going to be 4 to 6 feet. It took me roughly 5 feet to go from HU to drivers seat, and oddly, it took me just over 6 to go from lower dash to overhead console.

But as others are saying, your results may vary. Get the roll, feed your run, trim to it. Then pull the wire, soldier your ends, and reinstall. Personally, I like self soldering connectors. It allowed me to do my connections in place.

Sorry, I assumed you were going behind the back seat and not under a front seat. In that case, much shorter than I said. Grab the roll from Amazon or the 20’ roll from Best Buy and you’ll be all set with plenty of slack (always leave slack, and more than you think you need)

    Thanks Guys ,

I had a roll of speed wire that was 20 feet so I soldered the ends on that to go behind the radio . Folded the wire in half and fished it into place. I will just pop the seat out and solder the amp ends on in the truc in the next few days. It look like I will have about 8 feet extra of the speed wire.

I changed my plans at the last minute to go under the driver side seat. What is a factory ground point on that side. I pulled my power line I just need a ground.

    Thanks
    Guys

There is a convenient grounding bolt under the center console that the inverter box uses. (Inverter is directly under the console storage/armrest.) That's what I hooked into for my sub. The metal bracket thats over the inverter (and all bracket bolts) will also provide a ground path.

    Thanks

I will definitely look into that . The plan is to extend the usb port from inside the storage box to the rear of the console so I will be right there.
