Tire warning light in dash comes on intermittently

First issue with my 2018. The tire light with the exclamation point in the middle of it keeps coming on, then goes off. Sometime it is on steady, others it is flashing. Tire pressures are stable. I mean, WTF?

 

Could be one or more of your TPMS sensors nearing the end of its life. Ever replaced them?

IIRC, there is way to pull battery life from the ECU...

 

Time for a piece of electrical tape to solve the problem.

 

Based on the read listed above it is indeed a sensor. I'll have'em changed out. Thanks everyone! Carry on...

 

Suggest you wait till you need tires and you'll save a good bit of $.

Just manually check until then. Like the world did for decades.

 

Could be the spare tire. My daughter has that happen in her RAV4 and it's always the spare.

 

Tacoma stopped sensors in spares mid 2009

 

So, my mom's Audi did the same thing a few years back.

We tried everything. You know what finally worked?

Filling up the air on the spare tire...
