I bought seats out of a 2009 Tacoma for my 2006 Tacoma and expected a simple swap. The wiring plugs are different and I'm stumped about how to make this work.

    Yeah.
EDIT: From doing some additional searching, it appears there may have been significant changes starting in 2009, mainly with safety features. While I think that there *should* be a way to make the 2009 seats work, I'd need to see the diagrams (that I don't have). For your safety and that of any front seat passengers, you need to get this figured out properly.

    [ORIGINAL POST BELOW]

Here are some diagrams from a 2006 FSM. I have some from a 2007 manual, but they are almost identical. The 2009 might even be different, but they usually don't make drastic changes.

What I think *might* be the difference is the side airbag option. If your 2006 does NOT have side air bags and the 2009 did, it looks like there might be a difference.

Identify the connectors and ECUs (F20, F21, F25, O6-O9, and S26 and S27) by the wiring colors leading to them. I've circled them below. Then see if you can match things up to the '09 seats.

DO NOT cut and splice anything that has to do with the air bags with the battery connected. I would advise using a professional if you need to do any splicing to anything in the air bag circuit.
