Here’s some lime green (well, Ryobi green). Keeps shutting off intermittently, I was hoping for a loose wire, but seen more black dust. New random orbital sander ordered, along with 2 more batteries and a charger.

I’ll still use it, until the smoke starts.

My 40v ryobi weedeater battery just got too hot one time and was acting just like that. Youtube---> disassemble, system reset, send it. She good. Its like a built in safing mechanism to keep it from bursting into flames, not sure why they wouldnt want that.

A worker had an 18 volt DeWalt battery start smoking on a drill, by beating on it with a hammer he managed to get the very hot and melting battery out of the drill.

Workers always try to *fix* things with hammers, when that doesn't work they try tape...
No matter what kind or how much tape they use it doesn't work for crap on a leaking air hose BTW, or much else...

Worker: :confused: "...must be a bad battery..."

...and put another battery in the drill - which in less than a minute started smoking.

Worker: :confused::confused: "...these batteries are junk..."

...and yes, he put another battery in the drill - with the now expected results.

He brought the (now) whole pile of crap to the shop, fortunately I was there or he probably would have just put the drill on the bench and left.

It might notve been this exact but it's probably the simplest fix Ive had on anything home related that wasnt smack it with a hammer or tighten it up.

Thank you! Are you the one that has the woodworking thread? If so, and you ever have questions, I will be glad to help if I can.
I wet sanded with 600 a few hours ago and just got through putting on a 2nd coat of polyurethane. I will do the same tomorrow evening and, I think it will take a total of 4 or 5 coats to get the finish I desire. I found a table online a few days ago for sale that is similar to mine. They wanted $11,000 for it. Good wood is expensive but really?

I have built what you posted many times. I enjoy working with wood but do not consider myself a fine woodworker. This is my most ambitious "fine woodworking" project to date. I mostly work with pine and popular, but lately have gotten into maple and now Pecan. We will see if my talent can keep up with my choices.
