I'm assuming most of you guys have done the cam gear swap? Worth the trouble of taking off the blower?

The URD instructions don't mention replacing gaskets, is it recommended? For reference, I just had new heads thrown on about 4k miles ago

 

Gaskets? What gaskets?

I've had my blower for close to 100K if not the full 100K+ and have never replaced a gasket on it once.

 

I meant from taking the valve covers off lol

 

Yeah I've had the SC off more than 10 times, never replaced any gasket. Except the upper to lower intake gasket. But I only replaced it because it was 10 years old, and it seemed like a preventative thing, there wasn't actually a problem with it.

 

No I reused those too. Twice.

 

If they are in good shape send it!. I had already purchased new one so I swapped but the ones on their were mint.

 

Personally, with the amount of stupid work required to get to them including that bullshit SAIS system and how stupid it is to take those off and especially putting them back on, I wouldn't even consider rolling the dice. By the time I had to do my cam gears I had like 100K or so. The valve covers were starting to leak out something decent already and my disappointment in what is supposed to be the most "legendary" automotive manufacturer only sunk in further.

I would replace them. Especially if you have high mileage on them, leaking or not.
