Hello AZ thread! I’ll be headed down from NorCal to visit Joshua tree and then making my way to Sedona. Are there any must sees or must do’s in the area or along the way from Joshua Tree to Sedona?

I plan on checking out Schnebly but am open to other mild trails since I’ll be rolling solo and with my GF (her first time going on a long trip camping). We love to see historic places and do plan on making it out to Jerome. Any other “ghost towns” in the area? We’ve made it to Bodie up north and fell in love!

thanks for any insight! I pack in and pack out; I know most are protective of their spots :)

Jerome to Williams via the back dirt road is decent. It's graded but a lil bumpy, nice drive. Stay away from snow or rain conditions. Stop for any reason you feel and explore, no rush. Star Valley Motel is a good value in Williams. Couple good bars on main Street, ask about the bootleg tunnel. Check out Bearazona in Williams and the roller coaster. Can go to Grand Canyon or Flagstaff from Williams. Enjoy!

I met someone who recommended "Gold Mine Experience" near Wickenburg: https://www.goldmineexperienceaz.com.

The couple who bought/runs it may be quite accommodating to show you the many mines if you call ahead and promise to spread the word in California.

EDIT: You want want to go to the remains of Japanese Internment camps in Poston, about an hour south of Lake Havasu City.

Broken Arrow in Sedona is another well known trail. Be wary of pink jeep tours though as its highly travelled. Diamondback Gulch is a fun one too.
