I'm sure this has been posted at some point, but I can't find it.

If there's weight on the passenger seat, say my backpack, for example, the seat belt warning chime goes off.

I found a way to disable it years ago, but have since changed the battery and it's back.

    What's the procedure?

    Thanks.

FYI, the procedure in this video does NOT work on mine:

Just buy a seatbelt extender and call it a day

It's a great feature. I turned mine off after getting tired of tool bags, laptops, groceries, etc. tripping the chime.

I used a Bluetooth obd reader and found at least a couple different apps that allowed me to shut off both chimes. I tried multiple times and the sequence didn't work on my 15'

The Bluetooth apps didn't work, or the trip odometer sequence didn't work, @Bennett2010? Or perhaps neither worked?

(I have a 2015 too and it would be nice to silence the chime when there's something on the passenger seat.)

    Thx! Saved that reference.

A buddy has a ThinkTool Pros that we've hooked up successfully to my 2015 Tacoma in the past. I'll visit him in San Diego at the end of the year and we'll see what options that device might have. What I've seen looked quite capable.

The Bluetooth OBD2 "reader" and app is what worked for me. Not sure which app I used specifically of the top of my head but it was super easy...
