Make sure all the bolts are loose and thread it in. It will go.

thats what i figuerd but i wont, there is more misalignment then it looks on the photo. every other part is made precise and fits perfect, its telling me somthing is wrong. ill pull the lower intake and see what i find, maybe somthing slid under the sealing surface befure i torqued it down.
ill post if i find anything interesting

Did you try loosening the pulley/tensioner bracket and seeing if it is able to move enough to get that bolt started? I know you said the aluminum bracket wasn’t the issue but I think I had to loosen mine to get all those bolts to line up.

    I found somthing interesting...

I removed the lower intake manifold, everything looked fine. Reinstalled per the instructions again all the way to that bracket step.
I ovaled the bracket hole to make it fit and continued with the install(as sugested by a maggy rep). a little while later i realised the rotors were hard to turn by hand, almost impossible. on the bench it turns with slight resistance but otherwise free.
So i loosened the two large blower mount bolts but left the top cap bolts torqued. the rotors spin free and now the hole in the front bracket lines up.
there is a significant gap between the front lower mount ears(1.651mm per my feeler guage) but the back ears are flush
looks to me like the mounting ears on either the the blower or the upper intake plenum are machined wrong.

we'll see what magnuson has to say
maybe i should have made a new thread

@lacab100 , I'll definitely be watching for your results. $7200 and an involved install... a QC problem would be horrible news for 3rd gen forced induction dreamers.

Install done and running well, new parts fit good.

Looks to me like the upper intake front blower mount ear was milled 2mm too deep

If anyone with an MT is on the fence, wow drivability is so much better
Torque production is even and present all the way to redline, i think alot of this has to do with ditching the variable intake valve
overall power is better for sure, but nothing crazy
The engine also runs smoother and quieter at all rpm, i already run premium so that is pretty suprising to me. Maybe more rotating mass?

Having a disabled vehicle for a week while i wait for warranty parts was inconvenient, but the juice was worth the cost of the blender

Also the blower itself is really quiet, i dont think most passengers will realize im super'd, even car people

That was quick! Congrats and much appreciated!

So did Magnuson give you any explanation? Hoping you had another vehicle because this would've been a huge PITA for someone having their DD out of commission for a week. It seems there could be others out there if you had a supercharger milled incorrectly.. and a novice may not realize something isn't correct and just tightened it all down.

The magnuson rep i worked with said this is the first issue like this he has seen. He didnt confirm or deny anything about my speculation or troubleshooting, they just sent a new kit with all the castings.
All the defective parts were sent back to them, im sure they will confirm my findings and look into it.

Its possible this was a one off, or whole shifts worth of scrap aluminum. Manufacturing mistakes happen, thats what warranties are for, im confident they will get it sorted out

Im fortunate enough to have a motorcycle, and the weather has been great for it anyway.
Im sure glad i didnt grab the supercharger hammer out of the hammer drawer and send it:D. It probably would have worked at first too.

Our update that we're working on hasn't been released yet. We've had some ups and downs as testing progressed between personal schedules for developers and testers. Pretty close to finishing I think though, assuming nothing comes up, and not bad on timing imo. I've given the test tune to a few non-testers who have reached out about it and there's a lot of excitement over it.

I had to change mine. It was a pain. But part of the pain was figuring out what had to come off. Had to take off that big bracket that mounts the pulleys. Just plan on removing the bracket from the beginning and it probably isn't all that bad.

Worth the $7k bill? Figure after with install & tune, probably a $9k upgrade. Just wondering if you think it's worth 1/5th the value of the truck.

TBH only an enthusiast would think it's worth it. Myself included. If you need the extra power it def makes more sense to use any equity you might have your truck and trade it in for something else.

But even still, in my VERY biased opinion...yes.

after 1year + of supercharging, >10K miles, and towing my enclosed car hauler multiple times, I do. Finally have a built truck perfect for my needs. All depends on perspective. Some will spend it and think it's awesome, others will spend it and want their money back. :)
