I'm new to lifts and now very little. I've been reading a lot, but still need some guidance. I recently bought an 02 that has a 3 inch lift. The front is Rough Country coil overs, I believe, no spacers. It looks like the original leafs in the rear, nothing appears added, and there are no names on the rear shocks/struts, or whatever. They are grey/silver colored with this stamped in them: An arrow pointing towards the top with 660770 Q19 051 made in Mexico. No blocks ir spacers back there that I can tell.

I looked it up, sounds like they may be Rough Country as well, but not sure.

My question is I'd eventually like to add front and rear plate bumpers and I've read posts saying make sure to accomodate for the extra weight. How do I make sure this is adequate?

I'll also mention that I'd eventually replace what's on there now with Bilstiens coilovers up front and I'm not sure what to go with in the rear yet, so any advice there would be great.

It good to figure out what you have first.

    Posting clear pictures might help.

Meeting with some locals that you might find in your regional forum could help too.

Your thoughts process is good, but you need to know where you are before deciding where you are going.

Thanks. I'm trying not to get ahead of myself, as I'm shopping for new tires now also. Too excited about my first 1st. Gen, I guess.

I never kept up with tech, so I'm not sure how to post pics. it may sound stupid, but it is what it is. I'm going to try and figure it all out, including working on this truck.

I've done all the fluids, brakes, easy stuff like that on all my vehicles, but as I get older, I wanted one of theses trucks to learn a bit more on. I've always wanted one of these, or even the older Toyota trucks, but you never see those for sale, or at least in my budget.

There some kind of a rubber cap covering my lower ball joint bushing. I've looked at a lot of pictures and haven't seen this before. Has anybody else?
