Anyone have recommendations for tires to go with the TRD wheels? Since this is a highway queen I’m thinking of probably just sticking with the Michelin Defenders (and go up a size) unless someone has any other good recommendations?

also is 265/70/17 the biggest I can go without rubbing, like on tacomas?

    I have mods
For a highway queen, I'd stick with that size. Better fuel economy and you retain the power band you are used to. Going bigger starts sucking more gas (heavier tires) and moves the power band somewhat unfavorably. Most noticeable when trying to climb long, steep-ish grades at highway speeds. Trans will want to kick down much more often, heating up the trans more and reducing MPGs noticeably more.

Wise words! Will just transfer existing tires over. They have tons of tread life left in them.

Btw GK. 5th gen stock spec is 265/70r17. I suppose if you're a little short it's fine! I believe defenders do not have full depth siping in the shoulder, which personally I prefer to have the depth.

if you want some novelty check out the laufenn x fits I believe they are the lightest thing on tire rack in the size

Defenders have siping on the shoulders.

    OP go up to 265/70r17.

it’s a better look. More clearance. They last 3% longer :D You won’t regret it.

Called Discount Tire, it's less than $100 to swap my existing tires over to the new wheels, with balancing. For that price, i'll throw what i have on, and when these wear out a little more, or if i absolutely hate the look with the slightly smaller tire then i'll reevaluate the tire situation then. I've kinda been on a spending spree with this vehicle so another $1K+ on tires isn't ideal.

I recently purchase an ultra gauge, it tripped my VSC and TRAC dash lights. I thought I read somewhere if you have the wrong type OBDII scanner connected it could do this. Am I SOL and should disconnect and do the zero point calibration again?

I could use my ultra gauge in my 2014 Tacoma if this is the case.

Changed the rear diff and transfer case fluids. Both looked good. Tried to do the front diff but couldn’t get the drain plug off so I soaked it in PB blaster and will try another time.

Also puton these yellow fog light lenses:
