    Hello,

I was able to snag this camper off of marketplace for really cheap so i dont mind putting some money on it but i realize it leaks from the windows. I already placed the seal between the bed and camper which ended up helping a bunch with the waterproofing. There are certain spots that water comes in and i would like to see if anyone has this camper and if its worth trying to water proof. I had seen a video on youtube where the guy is able to take off the windows and replace the window seal. In my camper i dont see a way to do that and im afraid it might be glued down. There were several screws surrounding the camper that looked like the would hold down the windows but they ended up being just fold holding the trim around the window. Any help is very appreciated. My last hope is to put a kind of clear water sealer around the windows(but from experience i seen that once it gets old it turns yellow)

You were on the right path with the screws. The windows are pinched onto the shell by the outer and inner window trim. Removing all screws will separate the trim and you can remove the window. The old seal and outer window/trim may be stuck to the topper but it should pop free with a little push once the inner trim is removed. The seal is located on the outer trim, it is likely just a thin foam strip. Fairly easy to scrape clean and prep for new. For replacement I just used some generic foam seal from Amazon. Measure a piece of the old foam for reference and don’t forget to account for 20 years of compression! You could also look into some RTV style sealants but then future removal would probably be difficult.
Reassembly process will be obvious once you’ve taken them apart.

What brand is that truck shell that you bought? It's in good shape. I had the same problem with the front & side windows leaking, made an appointment at the Campways dealer in San Jose, CA (Leer dealer). They replaced the front & side window seals on my Glasstite camper shell. They did a great job on it and were done in a timely manner.

If the windows don't want to come out after removing the trim on the inside, it is possible someone had previously siliconed them in. If you don't want to risk braking them trying to get them out, put the trim ring back in, and clean the area around the windows with a good detergent, then rinse it really well with clear water, and put a bead of SikaFlex RV around the windows. I use this around the windows of RV's I build and refurbish.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I have yet to have time to take a look at the camper. The Sikaflex looks very promising and i will leave that as a last resort.

IMG_2803.jpg I like the Marine/RV Butyl tape from Amazon better than the thin foam factory gasket. The butyl tape is pliable/moldable and about 3/4” wide. Gives a nice water tight seal. Once you get the frame tightened back down, trim the excess that squeezes out with a sharp razor. Good luck
