Because my OME pack CS018R is actually a hilex pack for a 4500 pound truck the 6 leaf pack is now a 4 pack for my 3200 pound truck.
How much should I cut this rear bracket down to?

Whoa! Yeah, definitely needs to be trimmed. Have no idea to be honest. If I had to do it, maybe leave about the same amount of space as a normal pack has? :notsure:

I have a 97 single cab Tacoma with an ARB bumper, a 9500 lb winch, and 4xinnovations skids for the engine and transmission. This truck is really only used for hunting and I don't see the need to run any tires besides the 31x10.5. That said, I need to get springs on the front to support the added weight. I hope to avoid raising the rear to get it back level. What springs would you guys recommend, 881s? It is currently 2" higher in the rear than the front. I am fine with it being level or having a slight rake.

    What is on there now?
If you were to pose this question to ARB support, they're going to tell you that 2880s and 2881s are the only available spring for the 1st gen tacoma.
I think if you were to slap 2882s or 2883s on there, you're going to potentially risk needing to lift the rear as well. Also run the risk of the wheel well looking a little empty with the 31x10.5s.

Thanks for the reply. The truck is in stock form as far as I know. I am fine with stock height. If the gap ended up being too much I could go to skinny 33s I guess.

Edit: If I could get it back to sitting how it does in my avatar I would be okay with that.

Man, I read this thread till my eyes bled. Here is mine. 1997, 2.7L, 31x10.5 tires, 4x4.

Old suspension was completely clapped out. It rode like a boat. 188K miles.

Did OME shocks all around, 880 coils up front, Wheelers 3 leaf progressive in the back, kept the stock overload spring in there. Got just under 2" in the front and about 2" in the back. Has about a 1" rake. Rides great except for some driveshaft vibrations at 25mph. I'm hoping the coils in front don't sag too much cuz it's perfect for me right now.

    Before and after photos below.

Ima say get the 882 instead 881. I’ve got a plate bumper, winch with steel cable, and no extra skids and it sits decently. Think I’m on second notch of the 4 notch 1st gen Tundra 5100 struts.

Most current pic on my phone. 31/1050-15s. Leafsprings are a homemade pack out of 2sets of leaves.

I've searched and it looks like the 882 coils aren't around anymore? All I'm seeing is 880's, 881's, straight to 883's...am I blind? I've got an ARB bumper without a winch for now and would like to snag some 882's paired with OME nitrochargers...I'm not seeing them.

You can still order the 2882s -

    https://www.4wheelparts.com/p/arb-old-man-emu-coil-spring-pair-2882/_/R-BHWQ-2882
    https://www.summitracing.com/parts/emu-2882
    https://sleeoffroad.com/products/ome2882/
    https://www.amazon.com/ARB-2882-Old-Coil-Spring/dp/B004P9PGQU

LowRange Offroad has them on their site if you want to do a preassembled option. I'd stay away from them though. Their customer service and quality of work has been crap since they were bought up by TrailGear.

FWIW, the 2881s are fine on a 1st gen DC with ARB bumper. Exactly what I have now.
I actually have a pair of new 2882s/nitrochargers assembled and ready to go on the truck. Just haven't added the winch to the bumper yet so they're sitting on a shelf until I get around to it.

I apologize! I guess I didn’t look hard enough. Thank you! I’ll be stuffing some 285/75/16’s in there. I’ve been having a hard time deciding whether to go 881’s or 2’s so figured I would go with 2’s and risk a firmer ride than regret going 881’s without much of a ride height difference with the ARB.

When I was deciding on the 882s I called up ARB. They told me that while some did go that route, ARB never listed the 882s for the 1st Gen Taco. It was 880, 881 or 883 ONLY. Pfft. I said OK, thanks for taking my call. o_O:rofl:

Others have run that tire size on 881s. Check about the thread

Haha, yeah I was looking and that was the only options. I was like ooook….where are these guys getting 882’s?!

although those pics from that thread are nice, they don’t have the ARB bumper weighing the front down like I would. You’ve been plenty help man, I really appreciate you taking the time.
