    Hey yall,

So my used Ranchos didn't last long. I put new RS55180 and RS55226 shocks in the back. Lifted a couple inches I believe.

The used Ranchos lifted the front about 3 inches.

Need new coilovers and was thinking about these:

    What do you think?

I think you should just get some Bilstein 5100s - @rocknbil will be along shortly to share his experience at suspension lifts.

I'd avoid any suspension product with the word "quick" in it.

Andy, do you know where I can get a set for a decent price?

Color me shocked (pun intended). My brand new Rancho quick lift coilovers lasted 10 months, and the shock absorber itself wasn't extending anymore.

As Andy said above, get 5100s. You can probably disassemble the Ranchos and use the coils from them. Also rear shocks don't lift trucks.

Check out Toytec, I think they have fair prices and have good customer service in my experiences with them.

Decent price is relative right? How many times are you willing to replace the Ranchos just to pay a little less outta pocket? The 5100s will outlast the Ranchos many times over. Buy once, cry once.

@Red_03Taco reusing the rancho spring- as long as the spring rate and coil length are the same, sure.

Yes I remember you. Damn quick struts! I'm thinking maybe the lift was too much for them.

Gotta see if my local mechanic can swap them out and reuse the coils

    Rancho, need you say more..

Wheelers offroad, I picked up a set of RCD 5100’s with OME springs installed and other parts for a great deal.

Ranchos go in the trashcan. They come factory on the Z71 Silverado and they are poop. Cause weird tire wear rust and fall apart prematurely. Go bilstein and never look back lol. They do ride quite nicely and last a long time. 4wparts wheelers offroad or even Amazon carry them.

Yeah yeah. I know now. I'm waiting to hear back from ToyTech about 880 and 5100 bilstein coilovers

What are everyones thoughts on Rough Country coilovers and shocks?

I haven't heard back from Toytec and all other's suggestions on companies who builds and sells 5100 bilstein coilovers websites were not found.

Hey Diablo, I was finally able to get to Wheelers off-road site. Which coils should I get with the 5100s if I only drive to work and back, no off-road? 2880. 2881 or 2883? The site doesn't explain the differences between them.

    Thanks

suspension lifts will also sell you pre assembled 5100 coilovers with moog stock height springs.

toytech and wheelers are the same company.

Rough Country is in the same category as rancho. OK quality but you'll be replacing them more often. Bilstein 4600 or 5100s are really in a class of their own for a reason.

Whenever I wanted specific information on a product, the manufacturer was always helpful.

Did you not look at OME?

They list the spring rates/length of their coils and what they're suggested for.

Really, why bother with 5100s. Why not 4600s? Think this was the initial suggestion you received before you bought your Ranchos.

Sage advice Kwikvette. My financial situation was a little different back then. I can now afford to pay for what I really need. I am waiting for my guy to get back to me on a price for OEM 1st gen Tacoma coilovers. I believe they will be 4600s. He is a Toyota seller who can get parts really cheap. Cheaper than my other guy who works at a Toyota dealership!

These guys and the worship of Billsteins... I had terrible experience w/ them. They were puking all over my inner fenders far less than a yr in. I also have a rear weeping 1.5 yrs in. Yes, they were installed properly. I did it, I'm aware of the different lengths and the truck never left the asphalt.. I went with Rough Country this go round, cheaper (Billsteins are expensive) better looking and ride nice.

I'm going to quote myself here. WTF. Just got the RCD and OME coilovers and Icon Add a leafs, and I’m exactly 1” Lean to Drivers side. I thought the RCD versions had the spring cup groves different to adjust for the Taco Lean.

One was labeled “Driver” and I do see a 1/8” difference in bottom cup to center lower bolt. Driver 6 1/2”, Passenger 6 3/8”
