you have nothing to fear here if you answer... what "field" are you in? & do you get harassed still while you work from home?

the sexual harassment & way talking to people has changed over the last couple of decades made me VERY glad to get out. its so easy to offend someone now days, even if you have ZERO intention of it. Then here are the people who do intend it & claim it was an accident....

saw it all during my career & yes i did have to go to some anger management courses as the new wave of young people came in & got their undies in a bunch. pretty sure it was a comment like that one that lead me to have to go there.

I get that occasionally. Can't explain it. Some episodes are worse than others. I did notice it coincides with barometric pressure most of the time. Usually when there's a big change. And, it may have nothing to do with it and it's just a coincidence.

I'm not easy to offend but when my direct supervisor straight up propositions me via text message and I show that text message to the owner of the company and he decides to do absolutely nothing? Yeah, I have every reason to be offended. That was ultimately what ended my 11 years at my last job. That and I'm pretty sure I was being paid at least 25% less than my male coworkers. And that one of the guys who had been working there for about a year and was a dumbass was given the department lead title ahead of me. And rampant nepotism for the owner's favorite few employees extended family.
No issues with any of that with my current company but then most of my coworkers are younger than me so I think that factors into it a lot. The customers and contractors that I do have the occasional issue with - like the dumbass this week - are typically the older guys who have this sort of chip on their shoulder having to work with more and more women in the industry.

I’m sorry you had to experience that. As a father of a daughter I’d be livid if that happened to her.

I didn't tell my folks for a long time. Mom was recovering from hip replacement surgery and that led to a blood clot on her lung...dad had his hands full taking care of her and I didn't want to add to their stress with my problems. I hung on for a while, contacted the state of MT and started a formal complaint there. I just up and quit one day and the state contacted the business the next week. I told my mom I was quitting and she freaked out, told me I couldn't do that. I told her I couldn't go back and go through another day in that hell and then went on to tell her everything that had happened.
What shocked me the most is that the owner had four daughters. I thought for sure he would see the situation through the lens of being a girl dad and my pervy supervisor would be canned on the spot. Still don't understand how he got to keep his job...

Glad to hear that you are showing them some solid results and you get to prove them wrong.

As for your other post, I see it 1st hand where I'm doing the contract work right now. It's like a bad 1960's mentality in there, good 'ole boy club. The few women that are in the engineering dept literally have to work twice as hard as their male counterparts and they generally get treated like shit. Small town equals not too many opportunities for them, so it seems that they stick it out until they can find a better place to go. There's a 20-something gal in the CAD dept where I'm at, she is segregated into her own small cube area where a few other young ladies work from, just to keep her away from most of the pervs walking around this place. ( The guys are all in 4 person cubes )

Dehydration? That's my 1st symptom when I need to get caught up on hydration.

I'm no expert, but from my own personal experience those types of 'trail roads' aren't open until Memorial day, depending on how bad the winter was. The Alpine Loop never fully opened this year, Engineer and Cinnamon Pass never got cleared out enough before the snow started flying again.

    https://www.sanmiguelcountyco.gov/406/Road-Conditions

    https://codot.gov/travel/colorado-byways/southwest/san-juan-skyway

You can go to the county DOT website to look at specific areas/trails and passes. San Juan and San Miguel Counties cover most of the trails in the San Juans.

I tried making chicken strips using Dewaynes recipe for crunchy chicken. Ehhh, I need more practice. The recipe was fine, it's me. I'm not much of a fried food cooker.

Prudence ( the firewood truck) gave me gift. I was trying to remove a lump of something off of the carpet, it felt like it could be a coin so I set it in some hot water/dish soap then some hydrogen peroxide and a q-tip. I wasn't expecting this!

a 1920 Buffalo nickle! It's pretty beat up, so not really worth much more then a nickle but I thought it was cool to hold a century old piece of currency.

just a guess but seeing its proximity to Telluride Ski Resort and the resort's planned season ends April 7th I'm going to say no

my plan is to get us through the end of the year craziness - with the ski resort opening thanksgiving weekend this is always our busiest season with tons of houses wrapping up in time for the new owners to visit during hte holidays - and then hit them up for a massive raise. i'm due. and if i can get us through this time of year and hit all of our upcoming deadlines then i've got more proof that i'm worth it.
i've worked with all kinds of people and would say that the creepy pervy guys are definitely the minority. some guys change their attitude pretty quick once i can out smart them and some are just too freaking stubborn.

We haven’t started booking anything yet but it has my attention Mikala is flying into Denver on the 16th of April and we are trying to figure out if we hang out in Colorado. Or go over into Utah and beat around over there either way works. We thought of staying in montrose a few days and venturing out from there. Then go do some of Utah we are still tossing out ideas and seeing what sticks.

sounds like you are a co ordinator at whatever place you work.

now i understand how you were harassed from home. had never even thought of text or email direct harassment.

was thinking from the on the job stand point how the women we get on site are usually treated extra good cause everyone is scared to death to say anything.

i always tried to put them with another woman as a partner or only people that i really trusted not to mess it up for everyone.

it does suck but it is the world we work in.

with that: YES there are more & more capable women on the jobsites & in the upper ranks now days.

I work for a stone fabricator, my job title is "project engineer" but I am a drafter by trade.
We have a guy that goes on site, gets all of the measurements for the countertops and things. I take his info and use it to make up shop drawings in AutoCAD and we have a software that allows us to have a full scale image of our stone slabs. I take the CAD geometry and lay it over the slabs in the software to get a image of what the finished cut pieces will look like. That all goes out to the customers to review, give feed back, deal with crazy ass interior designers, etc etc. I then take all of that and prep it for the guys that program the cut files that tell our CNC machines how to cut and polish everything. So I have to make something that makes sense to the contractors, designers, programmers, fabricators, and installers. Oh, and it has to look pretty and follow all of the design guidlelines set by building codes and stone manufacturers. I have to have a basic understanding of every step in our process from beginning to end because what I do affects everyone else. There's a lot of detail that goes into it.

A Bernina. I've heard good things about Juki but we dont have a dealer close by so I want a brand that I can actually get help with if I need it.
$5600 retail. They're doing a 20% off trade in for any machine right now so I could get it for about $4200. Currently scouring craigslist for cheap machines  Might hit the pawn shops tomorrow.
