When trying to start the truck, nothing. No starter, simply nothing. I checked the battery; strong charge. I checked to be sure the ground is connected; it is. The security light blinks, the oil light comes on briefly... but that is all. Lights don't come on, hazards don't come on.

What do I need to check; fuses? If it was the alternator, wouldn't the battery have drained?

How did you check the battery?
If you just checked voltage with a meter and didn't load test it that's not really a valid test. It can show good voltage with no load on it but not be able to power a load.

Battery is brand new. I also had the dealer check the charge.
just to note; the battery terminals are very clean; no corrosion at all.

Does your dome light work? What about the horn and headlights?
If those do I'd start with checking the AM1, AM2, IGN, IG1, and IG1 no2 fuses.

New means nothing. When did the dealer check the battery? Batteries can fail over night.

can you try to have it boosted?

No; no lights, no horn, no dome light, no radio, nothing. The alarm light blinks, the oil light comes on when the key is turned... but that is it.
I tried boosting; no joy. The battery was checked at time of purchase. It was installed within an hr after purchase. I even brought it back to the shop to double check.

Sounds like a main fuse is blown, you're gonna have to check fuses as dm93 suggests, and check if they have power.

Is there a chance it was backwards boosted prior to new battery install?

Was the new battery installed before it wouldn't start?
Why and Who installed the battery? You or parts store / mechanic?
It is common that if the battery is jump started with the leads reversed the main fuse will blow.
If the incorrect battery was installed ( 24 battery without reversed posts ) it would do the same thing. A 24 Battery and the 24F Battery have reversed terminals from each other. Toyota uses a 24F Battery.

    So....
Without touching the truck since Saturday, when I changed the battery, it started this AM.
Question: Does the ruck have a 'secondary battery' that pulls from the main to keep things like in the audio or clock running while the truck is off?
I'm wondering if, after I changed the battery, the 'secondary battery' (if one) needed time to recharge.

But where it could not have been more dead this past weekend; no lights other than oil and alarm, no power to the starter.... dead silence, all dash lights came on this AM and it started.

Any thoughts? Would like to better understand the possible cause.

No secondary battery, the electrical system on 2nd gens is pretty simple. There's no modules involved with starting or powering up the truck, it's just switches and relays.

Sounds more like a connection issue at the battery, at the main (ALT) fuse in the underhood fuse box, or a bad main ground.
